Discover the Role

As a Partner Sharoshi (JB4 depending on qualifications), you will play a strategic leadership role in the firm, overseeing client relationships, managing complex labor and social insurance matters, and contributing to the growth and governance of the firm.

You will be expected to lead teams, provide high-level consulting, and ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and social insurance regulations.


Key Responsibilities

Legal Documentation & Filing

  • Oversee preparation and submission of labor and social insurance documents to government agencies.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in applications for health insurance, pension, unemployment, and workers’ compensation.

 

Internal Policy Development

  • Draft and review client employment contracts, work rules, wage regulations, and other internal labor-related documents.
  • Lead efforts to update internal and external policies in line with legal changes and best practices.

 

Client Advisory & Consulting

  • Provide strategic labor and HR consulting to corporate clients.
  • Advise on employment regulations, workplace compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Support clients with organizational development, HR policy design, and labor audits.

 

Day to day operations

  • Ownership of client payroll process and related tasks such as Pension office, Labor office, and tax procedures

 

Leadership & Management:

  • Mentor and train junior Sharoshi and staff; foster professional development.
  • Participate in firm governance, strategic planning, and business development.
  • Represent the firm in external engagements, seminars, and industry events.

 

Special Projects:

  • As required from time to time

Key Requirements
  • Certified 社会保険労務士 with registration in the national Sharoshi registry.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of professional experience in labor and social insurance consulting.
  • Proven track record in client management and team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese labor law, social insurance systems, and HR practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in cross-border labor issues
  • Business English proficiency is a plus.
