As an Accounting Officer, you will act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of international clients in the Netherlands, supporting them across financial, accounting, and tax-related matters. You will play a key role in ensuring that client entities remain compliant with local and international regulations while helping them navigate an increasingly complex business environment.
Working closely with Legal Officers and under the guidance of a Supervisor Accounting, you will manage client relationships holistically - balancing technical delivery with strong stakeholder engagement. This role combines transactional accounting responsibilities with advisory elements, offering exposure to a variety of industries and international structures.
You will join a collaborative and knowledgeable team that is focused on delivering tailored, high-quality services, building long-term relationships, and supporting clients in achieving their business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international clients, as well as notaries, advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies
- Provide day-to-day financial, accounting, and administrative support to client entities
- Manage accounting records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial databases
- Prepare statutory financial statements and client-specific reports
- Support cash management processes, including bank account administration and payment instructions
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory authorities (e.g. Chamber of Commerce, Tax Authorities, Dutch Central Bank)
- Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders to support audit and compliance processes
- Identify and resolve accounting, administrative, or tax-related issues and escalate where appropriate
- Contribute to the preparation of tax-related filings such as corporate income tax, dividend tax, and VAT (where applicable)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and documentation
- Support billing processes, including review of draft invoices and monitoring of outstanding receivables
- Actively monitor client agreements and identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and service offering
- Participate in client meetings and act as a trusted point of contact
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or professional services
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS preferred)
- Good knowledge of financial processes, reporting, and cost control principles
- Experience with financial systems such as SAP, CaseWare, or Dynamics is advantageous
- Strong communication skills in English & Dutch (both written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a client-focused environment
- High attention to detail and a structured, organised way of working
- Interest in working in an international and dynamic business environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders effectively
