Katowice is also the location for our second structure - the Regional Delivery Center, whose task is to serve the European markets of our clients, companies from the Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 rankings. As part of the structures, we are looking for specialists in the field of international accounting & tax, human resources and payroll, and global entity management. We also build teams that will be responsible for handling international funds and supporting internal financial processes of the TMF Group.
We are looking for experienced Accounting Officer to join our Regional Delivery Center in Katowice.
At this role You will have possibility to work remotely or hybrid from the office in Katowice.
- Build up a strong working relationship with local and international clients, notaries, external advisors, banks, regulatory bodies and other relevant parties.
- Adequately keep up with (client) activities and refer them to trusted third parties, to tighten the relationship with such parties, also enabling increased business opportunities for TMF Group as a whole. Pro-actively engage with Client Executive Directors, Business Development Directors and other local and international commercial colleagues where beneficial.
- Provide the client with comprehensive financial and administrative support and transactional assistance within the scope of the engagement. Taking a personalized and practical approach, and ensuring the client meets its timelines in all legal and regulatory matters.
- Set-up and maintain computerized administrations and/or financial databases
- Generate and administer accounting procedures and ensure that all procedures are carried out in accordance with local legislation and policies of the client
- Compile, enter and post monthly journal entries
- Prepare statutory financial reports as well as client-specific reports
- Assist in cash management including the management of bank accounts and payment instructions
- Prepare reporting to third parties, e.g. Chamber of Commerce, Dutch Central Bank, Tax Authorities and other relevant parties
- Interact with Supervisor Accounting on daily basis and assist on special projects.
- Ensure proper correspondence for accounts
- Maintain contact with auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, notaries and other involved parties in order to obtain the required information for reporting purposes
- Interact with external auditors in completing audits
- Identify problems or unexpected events arising during work and resolve them.
- Draft notifications concerning income tax, dividend tax and where necessary VAT (if no advisor has been appointed
- Organise the correspondence file, have the company file prepared, and supervise the input of documents in the company file. Perform regular checks to ensure the company file is correct and complete.
- Signal any accounting, administrative or tax issue of a(n) (intended) client transaction and liaise - after consultation with a Supervisor Accounting - with the client and/or advisors. Identify financial, economic and fiscal bottlenecks and contribute to their solution in liaison with external advisors.
- Attend and independently carry out meetings with clients and business partners.
- Execute any activities necessary to ensure TMF Group c.a. and its clients comply with which is from a sound compliance point of view required or otherwise desired
- Interact with the Supervisor Accounting and the MPM on daily basis and assist on special projects
- Ensure a timely and correct filing of the administrative records
- Keep client data and the client database up to date in a timely and accurate manner.
- Keep records per account of own worked hours on a daily to weekly basis and in line with the specific fee arrangements with the client.
- Review of the records per account of your client entities of team members worked hours.
- Review and approval of draft invoice in a timely manner.
- Pro-actively coordinate outstanding debtors balance and arrange for payment of (annual) fees, debtors control and collect outstanding receivables.
- Together with the Legal Officer monitor the fixed fee agreements and manage the potential fixed fee gap. Pro-actively entering into discussions with the client after consultation with a Supervisor Accounting.
- Act as a gatekeeper to ensure TMF Group meets its obligations as a gatekeeper of the financial system as required by local and international laws and regulations.
- Perform any other tasks and duties as requested or assigned by the Supervisor Accounting and/or Market Practice Manager.
- You dispose a financial-administrative degree (e.g. Bachelor or Master degree in economics, ACCA certification or equivalent) or a comparable level achieved through exposure and experience.
- Preferably a minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant working experience
- Excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles such as Dutch GAAP is desirable and affinity with IFRS
- You dispose of thorough knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles.
- You dispose of good knowledge and experience in the use of accounting related programs and aps, Caseware and Dynamics (nice to have)
- Excellent business English written and verbal communications skills.
- Good communication skills coupled with the ability to liaise with people internationally, through spoken and written channels and at all levels.
