Discover the Role
This position focuses on ensuring that an organization effectively manages, tracks, and optimizes its software assets throughout their lifecycle. The role involves maintaining compliance with software licensing obligations, supporting procurement and renewal activities, and ensuring accurate data for strategic decision‑making. It offers a strong learning environment for someone who is analytical, detail‑oriented, and motivated to grow within asset management, procurement, compliance, or IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Software License & Compliance Management

  • Support tracking and management of software licenses to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in renewals, true‑ups, and purchase processes.
  • Coordinate with procurement, finance, security, and IT teams to resolve compliance and inventory discrepancies.

2. Asset Management Operations

  • Use asset management tools to manage the complete software lifecycle, from procurement to retirement.
  • Maintain accurate, updated, and consistent software asset data.
  • Assist in handling purchase orders, invoices, and associated financial tracking.

3. Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and enhance reports and dashboards related to compliance, usage, and software ROI.
  • Utilize SQL, Power BI, and advanced Excel for data extraction, analysis, and insights.
  • Provide analytical support for budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.

4. Governance, Documentation & Vendor Support

  • Support governance activities with accurate data during negotiations and audits.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders on license-related queries.
  • Prepare and maintain SOPs, documentation, compliance guidelines, and governance materials.

Key Requirements

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, dashboards).
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word for documentation and presentations.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL (queries, joins, data extraction).
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar BI tools; DAX knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and use SAM/asset management tools effectively.

Domain Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of software licensing models and software publishers.
  • Awareness of IT asset lifecycle activities: procurement, renewals, inventory, and compliance.

Soft Skills

  • Strong documentation, drafting, and reporting skills.
  • Clear communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with global, cross‑functional teams.
