Discover the Role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Payroll with strong Indian payroll expertise, team leadership experience, and hands-on exposure to endtoend payroll in an outsourced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing and review.
  • Ensure accurate monthly salaries, incentives, reimbursements, and arrears.
  • Handle onboarding, exits, and full & final settlements.
  • Perform variance checks and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage annual & quarterly payroll activities, including Form 16 generation.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with Indian payroll laws and statutory requirements.
  • Handle statutory filings including eTDS.
  • Maintain SOPs, documentation, and audit readiness.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the escalation point for payroll queries.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Represent payroll in client calls and reviews.

Process & Team Management

  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 8-10 payroll analysts.
  • Oversee performance, work allocation, and skill development.

Reporting

  • Prepare payroll MIS, dashboards, and cost summaries.
  • Provide timely data insights and analytics.

Key Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Graduate in Commerce/Business Administration.
  • 6+ years of payroll experience (outsourced environment preferred).
  • Mandatory experience in team handling.

Technical Expertise

  • Indian payroll regulations & statutory compliances (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Bonus, etc.).
  • Payroll calculations, reconciliations, and annual/quarterly activities, Form 16, eTDS.
  • Hands-on with payroll systems; strong MS Excel skills.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • High attention to detail; strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
