As Business Development Director, you will be at the forefront of TMF’s growth strategy in Malaysia and the wider region. This is a high-impact, client-facing role where you’ll lead the end-to-end sales process—from identifying opportunities to closing deals—across multiple jurisdictions.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external intermediaries to build a strong pipeline, convert leads into long-term clients, and drive revenue growth across TMF’s full suite of services.
Key Responsibilities
· Pipeline Development & Lead Generation
o Build and manage a robust pipeline of inbound and outbound opportunities across Malaysia and the region.
o Respond to web inquiries and proactively generate new leads through networking, referrals, intermediaries, and market initiatives.
o Maintain a balance between sourcing new logos and farming accounts.
· Sales Execution & Deal Leadership
o You’ll project-manage the full sales cycle by coordinating with TMF presales teams for: lead qualification, solution design, proposal development, pricing, contract negotiation, KYC, and handover to delivery teams.
o Act as the Deal Lead for large, multi-country opportunities, coordinating internal teams to deliver tailored, high-value solutions.
· Client & Intermediary Engagement
o Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, intermediaries, and industry influencers in the market.
o Develop strategic account plans to grow existing client relationships and identify cross-selling opportunities across TMF’s global footprint.
· Performance & Reporting
o Meet (and exceed!) annual sales and pipeline generation targets, all measured in Annual Contract Value (ACV).
o Provide accurate weekly pipeline forecasts and maintain up-to-date CRM records (We’re using Microsoft Dynamics).
· Strategic Contribution
o Collaborate with leadership to refine sales strategies, improve processes, and enhance conversion rates.
o Contribute to team development by coaching peers and sharing best practices. You'll also provide guidance to TMF Malaysia local team on landing pipeline management.
o Champion TMF’s values and culture, acting as a brand ambassador in the market.
Key Requirements:
· Education & Experience
o Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field.
o Proven track record in business development, consulting, legal, or professional services.
o Experience managing complex, multi-jurisdictional sales cycles involving pre-sales.
· Skills & Attributes
o Fluent in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Malay and/or Chinese is a plus.
o Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to understand client needs and craft tailored solutions – no hard selling.
o Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
o Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with Copilot, CRM tools (Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce preferred).
· Industry Network
o A well-established network of intermediaries and industry contacts in Malaysia and/or the region is highly desirable.
