The Designated Person for Investment Management is responsible for oversight of all investment management activities both retained and delegated by TMF Fund Management Ireland, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and protecting investors’ interests in accordance with the Central Bank of Ireland’s CP86 framework and applicable regulations.
Oversight of Investment Managers:
- Monitor and supervise all retained and delegated investment managers to ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory obligations
- Assess monthly and quarterly reports, escalating issues to the executive team and Board where necessary
- Conduct regular calls and meetings with investment managers
- Ensure timely resolution of identified issues and maintain robust documentation of oversight activities
Governance & Reporting:
- Prepare and present oversight reports to the Board and relevant committees
- Assess investment performance against stated objectives and risk parameters
- Challenge and validate information provided by delegates, ensuring robust governance
- Maintain evidence of reviews, including action items and timelines for completion
- Support the design and implementation of governance tools to demonstrate effective oversight
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with UCITS and AIFMD requirements
- Maintain evidence of reviews, actions, and timelines in line with CP86 requirements
- Monitor regulatory reporting obligations (e.g., EMIR, CP 145) and address any deficiencies promptly
- Due Diligence & Onboarding:
- Participate in initial and ongoing due diligence of investment managers
- Contribute to the development and review of fund policies and procedures
- Support onboarding of new funds and managers, including review of investment policies and procedures
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as subject matter expert for investment management oversight
- Collaborate with other Designated Persons and internal teams to ensure cohesive governance
- Support business development initiatives by providing expertise on investment oversight
- Minimum 6+ years in senior asset management or fund management industry roles
- Previous experience with Alternative funds, particularly Real Estate and Private Equity
- Strong knowledge of investment management processes, asset classes, and regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with Irish and EU regulatory frameworks (UCITS, AIFMD, CP86)
- Proven ability to challenge senior stakeholders
- Experience in delegate oversight and Board-level reporting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (Board-level experience preferred)
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with CRM and governance tools is an advantage
Regulatory Requirements:
- Must meet the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness & Probity standards for PCF-39D
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and challenge information provided by delegates
- Sufficient time commitment to discharge responsibilities effectively
