Discover the Role
The Dynamics 365 Automation Test Engineer is responsible for leading automation and functional testing efforts across Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Service Management Tools (SMT), Power Platform, and associated web applications. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, reliable releases by designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test frameworks while also executing thorough manual testing.
The position requires strong expertise in CRM testing, automation frameworks, QA methodologies, and Agile delivery models. The engineer works closely with development, product, and business teams to ensure test coverage, defect resolution, and continuous quality improvement. This is a hands-on role that demands ownership, analytical thinking, and proactive collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Functional Testing

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation test suites using C#, Selenium, EasyRepro, SpecFlow, and related automation tools
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across:
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
    • Service Management Tools (SMT)
    • Power Platform solutions
    • Web-based applications
  • Build and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with business requirements
  • Validate data integrity and integration flows between CRM, SMT, and dependent systems
  • Analyze automation results, identify defects, and ensure adherence to defined quality standards

Quality Assurance & Collaboration

  • Apply QA best practices, testing methodologies, and full software testing lifecycle knowledge
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to improve automation and QA processes
  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and defect triage sessions
  • Take complete ownership of assigned testing activities and ensure timely and high-quality deliverables

Defect & Test Management

  • Use Azure DevOps (TFS) for test case management, test execution, requirements traceability, dashboards, and defect tracking
  • Log, document, track, and verify defects through to resolution with detailed validation
  • Conduct regression testing following bug fixes, configuration changes, and system releases
  • Perform requirement analysis and ensure full test coverage across CRM and SMT workflows

Dynamics 365 CRM & SMT Expertise

  • Test CRM and SMT configurations, customizations, and enhancements
  • Validate functional flows, integrations, workflows, and business rules within CRM and SMT platforms
  • Provide QA-driven insights and recommendations for improving CRM and SMT functionality and stability

Key Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Mandatory Skills

Dynamics 365 & SMT Testing

  • Strong hands-on experience in Dynamics 365 CRM functional and automation testing
  • Proven experience testing Service Management Tools (SMT)
  • End-to-end testing experience across CRM, SMT, Power Platform, and web applications

Automation Frameworks & Tools

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks including:
    • C#
    • Selenium
    • SpecFlow
    • EasyRepro
  • Experience using TestComplete or similar testing tools

QA & Testing Expertise

  • Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, QA processes, and testing lifecycles
  • Expertise in requirement analysis, test design, execution, and defect management
  • Experience with integration, regression, and system testing

Tools & Platform Experience

  • Azure DevOps / TFS for test and defect management
  • Visual Studio for automation development
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform
  • Service Management Tools (SMT)
  • CI/CD tools such as TeamCity and Octopus

Good to Have

  • Functional knowledge of Dynamics 365 Sales and Marketing modules
  • Understanding of CRM and SMT data flows, integrations, and dependencies
