Discover the Role

Reporting to the Country Head – Jersey, the Client Director will lead TMF Jersey’s delivery of administration services to the client group across both Fund and Corporate entities. The role carries full accountability for day-to-day client service delivery, team leadership, operational excellence, and the overall commercial performance of the portfolio. The Client Director will act as the senior escalation point for all client-related matters, ensuring seamless coordination across internal teams and alignment with global account governance.

The post holder will also develop close working relationships directly with fellow members of the Jersey Senior Leadership Team, Board members, the TMF Group practice area heads, other TMF offices and externally with intermediaries and clients to support the development of new business. Thought leadership and service innovation will also be an important element of the role. 

The post holder will also ensure that client service delivery complies with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements, promoting adherence to TMF policies and procedures, at all times.


Key Responsibilities

Fiduciary & Regulatory

  • Board member of TMFJL and entities within the affiliation when appropriate; Jersey SLT and other committees of the Boards as required.
  • Builds and maintains a collaborative and positive relationship with fellow Board and Committee members.
  • Act as a director for client companies and representative for the trustee of clients trusts.
  • Act as “A” signatory for client companies and representative for the trustee of client trusts. 
  • Can act as personal director on client structures. 
  • Ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 
  • Fully understand the requirements of the Group’s business plan and ensue the service line works to achieve the Company’s stated objectives.

 

Clients

  • Lead the delivery of services meeting and continuously improving client service standards. 
  • Client Satisfaction Ratings responsibility and driving periodic improvements.
  • Facilitating cross-office client relationship management and ensure cross-border coordination.
  • Review all contentious and complex technical and/or servicing matters in conjunction with in-house SMEs.
  • Undertake client service business plans including specific account plans and retention plans where appropriate. 
  • Drive client satisfaction, feedback, and remediation.

 

Performance

  • Accountable for achieving the client Fund & Corporate P&L targets, margin improvement, and productivity.
  • Support the BIIL SLT in local strategy development and implementation. 
  • Support the development and implementation of growth plans. 
  • Keep up to date on legal/regulatory/tax based developments or changes that could affect the fund business and client base.

 

Operations

  • Ownership of the client-specific operating model.
  • Implementation of workflow improvements across jurisdictions.
  • Defining and implementing the best operations model for the Jersey business through strong analytical and planning skills, in collaboration with the Market practice leads and the Group Funds practice. 
  • Implementing the optimum balance of insourced and outsourced activity. 
  • Ensuring strong controls are in place with adherence to relevant policies, operational procedures and processes such as ISAE 3402 standards.
  • Reporting on operational activity and implementing continuous improvement programmes and workflow planning.
  • Driving quality and service level improvements as well as operational change
  • Exploring and implementing efficiency opportunities to improve profitability.

 

People 

  • Provide leadership to the combined servicing team across Funds and Corporate.
  • Build a succession plan within the servicing team.
  • Leadership of the team and wider business as a member of the Jersey SLT. 
  • Driving values, culture and employee engagement.
  • Ensure adequate resourcing and support recruitment activity. 
  • Team Management & Mentoring of the client servicing and support teams. 
  • Oversee team development and succession planning. 

 

Growth 

  • Drive expansion of client-related services, including new strategies, structures, and jurisdictions.
  • Support cross-sell into adjacent TMF service lines.
  • Develop new work from existing clients.
  • New-new business development. 
  • Intermediary relationship programme. 
  • Liaison with Group practice teams, GST and countries to identify cross-sell. 
  • New product development. 
  • Generation of Thought Leadership to clients and the market. 

 

 Risk & Compliance 

  • Ensure the fund business is compliant with local regulations and laws. 
  • Proactively work with the local Legal, Compliance, Risk & Governance teams to implement, monitor and enhance controls in the operation of the business. 
  • Continue to improve the quality of client data and standard of client files to comply with the local regulations

Key Requirements
  • Graduate in a relevant field and a professional qualification. E.g. ISCA, STEP, ACCA.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the fund business.
  • A comprehensive understanding of their subject area to explain both the concept and principles to clients, staff and Group representatives.
  • Prior people management and leadership experience. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, manage client interactions, and provide clear guidance to teams.
  • Expertise in all MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Other software packages as appropriate – Investran & ViewPoint a distinct advantage
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
