Discover the Role

In a very international and diverse environment, the HR Generalist will oversee HR responsibilities and activities for TMF Belgium, supporting the HR manager with coordination and execution of all aspects of the employee life-cycle. 
This role serves as the key point of contact for employees regarding payroll administration, onboarding, absence management, general labor conditions, company policies, performance reviews, growth and development learning paths.

The HR Generalist will coordinate local employee relations, support training and development, and handle specific projects related to Belgium. He/she will also collaborate with the local payroll provider to ensure data quality and consistency. 

Furthermore, the HR Generalist will be responsible for generating reports for the group using Human Resources Information Systems and other tools. 


In short, The HR Generalist role is multifaceted, involving a wide variety of HR tasks. The goal is to ensure the HR department functions smoothly and effectively, delivering maximum value to the organization and providing a positive experience for employees.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Managers and colleagues, reporting to the HR Manager based in France.
  • Payroll Management: Handle local payroll processes in collaboration with our external payroll provider, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Belgian regulations. 
  • Benefits Administration: Administer Group & Local benefits schemes, Pay Review Process, and out-of-cycle compensation changes. 
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks for onboarding, orientation of new employees, and exit interviews. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within current HR processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with various stakeholders across the organization to address HR-related needs and concerns. 
  • Manager’s council: Advice our managers in their day-to-day decisions while supporting our values, processes and ensuring local compliance 
  • Initiative Implementation: Act as the local person who implements and rolls out initiatives as designed by the group and creates some locally. 
  • Performance Management: Assist employees and managers throughout the entire Performance Management cycle. 
  • HR Systems Management: Manage processes and operational activities in HR Systems & HR tools. 
  • Training & Development Support: Support the Training & Development section and initiatives shared by TMF centers of expertise. 
  • Labor Law Assistance: Provide guidance and support to managers on labor law issues, ensuring compliance with local legislation.
  • Litigation Handling: Coordinate and resolve potential HR-related litigations in a timely and effective manner.

Key Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel); knowledge of HR systems is a plus. 
  • At least 1/2 years of experience as HR Generalist. 
  • Broad knowledge of Belgian employment law and payroll. 
  • Language skills: Fluent in English (oral and written), and in Dutch and/or French. 
  • Experience in an international environment is a plus. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with different teams and HR partners. 
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with the team, internal partners, stakeholders, and suppliers to deliver high-quality service. Proactive, hands-on, flexible, and eager to learn. 
  • Initiative-driven with a strong desire to continuously improve processes. 
  • High degree of resilience. 
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
