Discover the Role

We are looking for a bilingual Payroll Senior Manager to lead our HR and Payroll team based in Tokyo. A successful candidate will be responsible for not only leading the growing team in Tokyo and Fukuoka, but also have an opportunity to actively be involved in the company's growth strategy plans, such as proposing additional services to clients, business development, and much more!


Key Responsibilities
  • Manages a portfolio of clients for HR & Payroll services;
  • Reviews deliverables to key clients;
  • Maintains relationship with clients and their supervisors as well as internal/external stakeholders;

·        Ensure payroll process & services quality are delivered in high quality & timely manner;

·        Coordinate with other Payroll teams in APAC region and work with all stakeholders to resolve issues;

  • Analyzes customer specific demands and provides value-added solutions;
  • Supervises and coaches Assistant Managers and Managers;
  • Allocates engagements to team members based on their experience and competence;
  • Implements internal control procedures and trains team members;
  • Monitors productivity within the team and drives continuous improvement;
  • Assists Director in new business development;
  • Prepares proposals for new/existing clients;
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling of TMF services;
  • Responsible for preparing/reviewing invoices and collections;
  • Provides authorized signatory for payment instruction;
  • Works with HR on recruitment activities, performance review and employee relations matters;
  • Attends seminars for networking and development purposes;

·        Performs other duties as assigned.


Key Requirements

·      Degree Holder in Human Resources Management or Accountancy or any related disciplines preferred;

·      A minimum of 7 - 10 years relevant experience in payroll services, preferably in outsourcing environment; 

·      Sound experiences in handling local employment regulations, tax practices, pension and other related issues; 

·      Experience in multiple payroll / Asia Pacific region payroll will be an advantage;

·      People management experience;

·      Preferred experience with payroll software and experience in payroll e-system enhancement is advantage;

·      Good command in both spoken and written Japanese and English (TOEIC 860 or above);

·      Professional qualification holder.
