TMF Group Australia looking for Junior Legal Counsel to join the team!


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the establishment of new funds.
  • Working on offer and other fund documents.
  • Reviewing contracts.
  • Registration of deeds.
  • Conduct credit, bankruptcy and reputation checks.
  • Drafting and/or coordinating regular fund updates, reports.
  • Reporting to investors, clients, Compliance Committee and the Board.
  • Ensure risk management systems associated with TMF/Vasco and external service providers are developed and operate effectively.
  • General Australian Financial Services Licence and Australian Credit Licence compliance.
  • Management of corporate authorised representative compliance;.
  • AML/CTF, FATCA and other regulatory compliance.
  • Working collaboratively with Corporate Compliance on compliance registers, complaints management, regulatory lodgements, policy maintenance/updates (alignment with current regulations) and as further required.
  • Actively participate in keeping up to date with current relevant regulations including setting up staff know-how sessions.
  • Liaising with panel lawyers and external service providers.
  • Continue to seek improvements in efficiencies in processes and workflow;
  • Assist with marketing activities, as required and General ad hoc administrative task.

Key Requirements
  • Excellent legal review and drafting skills.
  • Solid business management skills including pro-active client management.
  • Business professional, with outstanding reputation and a high level of integrity.
  • Understanding of funds management industry, services, clients and competitors.
  • Funds management experience in compliance and risk management.
  • Strong compliance and risk management ethic with attention to detail in implementing high quality processes to ensure compliance obligation are met and minimization of exposure to risk and team player who works collaboratively within team and across the Group companies.
