As Junior Quality Assurance Tax Officer, you are engaged in the overall quality of the provision of services with a specific focus on tax matters. You will work together with the Quality Assurance Tax Officer and Quality Assurance Manager Tax to further develop and maintain a tax quality framework. In addition, you will be engaged in the proper completion of the tax integrity analysis in our client risk assessment process. Furthermore, together with the Quality Assurance Tax Officer you will focus on sharing tax knowledge beneficial to client/compliance teams through e.g., provision of trainings and assisting client/compliance teams on ad-hoc tax related matters. 


In addition, you work together with the team members of the Regulatory Services team which is reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager Tax as well. The team is focused on providing professional legal and tax guidance relating to Dutch and international (legal and tax) regulatory requirements. The team is a non-client facing team and assists the business teams with requests related to clients. Within the team we take care of legal and tax related matters and we provide guidance on legal related matters to our business teams on (newly on-boarded and existing) clients.


Key Responsibilities
  • Under guidance of the Quality Assurance Tax Officer, review and assess relevant tax documentation/advice from third parties and focus on completion of the ongoing tax integrity analysis’ in our client risk assessment process;
  • Taking responsibility for delivering excellence in customer service;
  • Responsible for workload planning and quality of output;

 

In conjunction with a senior team member:

  • Under guidance of the Quality Assurance Tax Officer, further develop and maintain a tax quality framework for TMF Netherlands, including the preparation of tax integrity analyses in our client risk assessment process;
  • Ensure our template toolbox and policy database is kept up to date;
  • Provide guidance to the Business Excellence Centre and client teams and review the Tax Integrity Section of our Client Risk Assessment form for client acceptance and Mandate Review;
  • Act as local point of contact for international regulatory projects involving multiple TMF offices;

Key requirements
  • Master’s degree in International or Dutch Tax law or in a related field;
  • Minimum of 1 years relevant working experience in the financial services industry, preferably with a corporate service provider or tax advising firm [additional regulatory/tax competencies welcome];
  • Knowledge of the EU regulatory framework and of international corporate (tax) structures is a plus but not a requirement;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an (international) team;
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills [other languages are a plus];
  • Experience with MS office and database knowledge.
