Discover the Role

The Payroll Team Leader ensures the delivery of high‑quality services to the assigned clients while fully complying with the relevant legislation. Key responsibilities include overseeing professional processes, ensuring deadlines are met, and providing guidance and support to team members. The Team Leader manages and motivates the team, supports employees’ professional development, and provides regular feedback.

The Payroll Team Leader works with a medium‑complexity client portfolio and typically coordinates the work of a team of 3–6 employees.


Key Responsibilities

    Ensure high‑quality service delivery to clients in compliance with Hungarian legislation

    Prepare accurate annual and interim payroll reports within set deadlines

    Coordinate team activities: scheduling, supervision, and professional support

    Independently manage own client portfolio

    Handle minor escalations efficiently and proactively

    Monitor client needs and changes; ensure understanding and adherence to service agreements; support continuous improvement of client satisfaction (NPS)

    Train and onboard new team members

    Contribute to process improvements, workflow planning, and operational optimisation

    Participate in the development and maintenance of internal knowledge bases and documentation

    Coordinate audits and inspections; maintain communication with relevant authorities

    Support the onboarding of new clients

    Organise substitutions within the team and ensure smooth daily operations during absences

    Provide regular feedback and conduct performance evaluations

    Approve timesheets and employee absences

    Ensure compliance with internal policies, IT guidelines and company standards

    Participate in the recruitment process and conduct interviews

    Collaborate closely with Compliance, Client Management, and other internal departments.


Key Requirements

    Relevant educational background

    Minimum 4 years of professional experience

    Up‑to‑date knowledge of payroll, social security and tax regulations

    Solid Excel skills

    Knowledge of the Nexon payroll system is an advantage

    Strong command of English (spoken and written) is essential

    Excellent communication, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills

    Ability to work independently and with high accuracy.
