Discover the Role

Based in Mauritius, the Senior Accountant will join TMF France’s accounting division within a dynamic international team. 

Specializing in French accounting and tax processes, the role involves managing a multi-country client portfolio, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely delivery of services such as bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payable, tax compliance (VAT and other French taxes), reporting, and financial statements. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with teams in Mauritius, France, and globally to provide a harmonized client experience while supervising junior team members and maintaining strong client relationships.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in timely and accurate manner general accounting and reporting including processing journal entries, calculation of accruals, posting and process allocations
  • Assist in month closing by assuring all appropriate information is entered into system, including cut off
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of reports and accounts
  • Handle day-to-day Accounts Payable activities, like invoice processing, matching to purchase orders/members statements, confirming authorizations, checking VAT calculations and deductions, creating payment proposals, reversals and corrections of incorrectly posted invoices,
  • Handle day-to-day Accounts Receivable activities, like issuing invoices, incoming payment allocation and matching,
  • Create, maintain Vendor / Customer Master Records
  • Reconciling Accounts Payables/Receivables account(s) to the general ledger
  • Preparation of the draft tax declaration (including VAT & CIT)
  • Preparation of the different internal review notes or audit files
  • Assistance in preparation of the annual closing documents, including cut off and draft financial statements
  •  Active stakeholder in fostering a good Client relationship
  • Support more junior employees in their training and daily work
  • Reporting proactively and on time to Supervisor and Managers to ensure fluidity and compliance in the workflow

Key Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting (ACA, ACCA, French Accounting diplomas or equivalent) - even if partly qualified
  • at least 3/4 years of previous experience (preferable in an international environment)
  • Strong knowledge of English and French
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of French GAAPs is a good to have but trainings will be provided
  • Practical knowledge of accounting standards, GAAPs, IFRS
  • Experience in a multi-country, multiple legal entity environment will be an advantage
  • Microsoft Office literacy; working with Microsoft Dynamix or other ERP / F&A systems will be an advantage.
