The position focuses on non-functional support, including performance optimization, security, availability, and recovery of application environments. In addition to hands-on technical responsibilities, the engineer is accountable for day-to-day operational activities of a small technical team, contributing to infrastructure architecture decisions, and continuously improving support processes in line with ITIL principles.
Infrastructure & Application Support
- Provide non-functional technical support for core business application infrastructure
- Proactively monitor systems, analyze issues, and implement permanent fixes
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend infrastructure-related application issues
- Install, configure, and maintain application infrastructure environments
- Ensure optimal performance, resilience, and security of applications
Optimization, Stability & Availability
- Continuously optimize existing application infrastructure
- Ensure integrity, availability, and recoverability of all core application platforms
- Perform regular capacity planning to support current and future business needs
- Implement preventive measures to reduce downtime and performance issues
Security, Compliance & Patch Management
- Conduct regular security audits across application infrastructure
- Manage and apply patches to operating systems, databases, and application components
- Ensure compliance with internal security standards and IT governance practices
Architecture, Design & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in key decision-making around application infrastructure architecture
- Design and implement new operational procedures and support processes
- Challenge complex customer or business requirements and propose effective technical solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the application support function
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Document existing and new environments, processes, and configurations
- Maintain accurate technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and audit readiness
Team & Operational Support
- Handle day-to-day operational activities of a small technical team
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes where applicable
Profile & Experience
- Strong affinity with financial ERP systems
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in technical application or infrastructure support
- Experience supporting business-critical, enterprise-level applications
Essential Technical Skills
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 / 2016 Administration
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2012 Administration
- Azure PaaS experience, including:
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Cosmos DB
- Azure SQL Database
- Azure DevOps
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
Advantageous / Nice-to-Have Technical Skills
- Experience with Viewpoint
- Experience with Outsystems
- Knowledge of REST APIs
- Internet Information Services (IIS) administration
