TMF Malaysia is looking for a Senior Executive, Risk and Compliance, to join the team!


Key Responsibilities
  • AML/CFT/CPF and Sanctions compliance.
  • Support an efficient and effective client acceptance, continuation and exit process in line with Group policies and procedures and local regulatory requirements.
  • Support implementation and drive adherence to Group and local Regulatory, AML/CFT/CPF and Sanctions policies, procedures, systems and controls, including the operation of TMF’s risk-based approach across all lines of business and services.
  • Support business teams in execution of CDD/ KYC related tasks and duties
  • To conduct reviews of CDD/KYC, screenings and mandate reviews.
  • Monitor, support and coordinate KYC process and related documents collection, assessment and filing.
  • Acts as a main point of contact for TMF Group Compliance Centre and ensure all CDD/ KYC required information/ documentation is comprehensive and processed on a timely basis.
  • Actively contribute to improvement of CDD/KYC awareness and overall risk & compliance culture across business teams; provide training and ad-hoc support.
  • Advise business teams on the risks related to Regulatory, AML/CTF and Sanctions matters ensuring regulatory requirements and global Standards are respected; and ensure decisions taken are within the risk appetite set.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Complete all testing in the compliance monitoring Framework based on the areas to monitor within the scheduled timelines.
  • To keep track, monitor and ensure all regulatory submissions are completed within the timelines.
  • To assist with the preparation of training materials, conduct onboarding training and refresher trainings for Local offices.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory change, industry trends and anticipating areas of focus and attention of regulators and embed those within day-to-day operational activities.
  • Support stakeholders to initiate/review gap analysis while assessing the impact of local regulatory and/or group policy changes on both internal compliance requirements and business activities.
  • Support local head of Compliance in handling regulatory visits and inquiries, and where needed, work hands on managing, coordinating, and responding to regulatory examinations and inquiries.
  • Share inputs with the local head of compliance on policy and procedure revision to ensure adherence to current compliance standards & requirements.
  • Support the Local head of Compliance to liaise with auditors and oversee report on the status of audits, findings and recommendations.
  • To assist the Local head of Compliance on an effective implementation and execution of Risk frameworks.
  • Assist Senior Risk & Compliance Officer for other projects / tasks related to the improvement of the local risk & compliance framework.

Key requirements
  • 4-7 years of prior experience in Risk and Compliance within the financial services sector, with a focus on Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions, Non-Bank Financial Institutions or Labuan Trust companies
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering specialist (CAMS) or relevant Compliance qualifications from Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB)/ any recognized institutions would be advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of Malaysia laws and regulations including regulatory compliance obligations from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) and FATF recommendations.
  • Good problem Solving and decision-making skills to assess complex situations, identify compliance gaps or risks and recommend solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively report on compliance issues, regulatory matters and risk assessments.
  • High level of analytical skills to identify emerging risks, review regulatory changes, complex compliance requirements and evaluate compliance programs.
  • Personal Traits: Proactive and continuous learning mindset, collaboration and teamwork, leadership and mentoring abilities, adaptability and resilience, effective communication and influence and strong decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
