Discover the Role

The Senior Manager supports the Head of Compliance & Risk in overseeing adherence to TMF Group’s policies and standards. This role plays a key part in shaping and advising on the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and processes that align with approved business growth strategies, regulatory changes, acquisitions, and operational efficiency initiatives.

A core responsibility includes the identifying new risks and ongoing monitoring of the Risk Framework across Jersey. This framework should be aligned, where feasible, with TMF’s global corporate practices to ensure consistency and effectiveness in risk management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that consistent policies, procedures, and processes are employed across Jersey wherever possible and that any exceptions are clearly documented and approved by the appropriate body
  • Working closely with Group Risk, Compliance, other support areas and the business to ensure that all risks are properly identified, assessed, understood, and addressed
  • Agree, introduce, and monitor Key Risk and Key Performance Indicators ensuring that trends are reported monthly, and that “Hot Spots” are escalated appropriately.
  • Manage the maintenance of the Jersey centralised Risk Inventory which details all identified risks, findings and agreed corrective actions and track them through to successful remediation, by the agreed target completion dates. Help to drive these risks through to conclusion and mitigate where appropriate. 
  • Oversee the production of meaningful management reports for Senior Management, PPC, and Board meetings with a view to identifying “hot spots” and escalating as appropriate
  • Facilitate and contribute to discussions with internal and external auditors, support areas and the business to ensure that that any findings, remedial actions, responsible parties, and target completion dates are mutually agreed
  • Through attendance at internal forums influence and provide guidance on matters which fall into the Risk remit
  • Manage resolution of any Group wide Internal Audit findings and encourage migration of best practice in respect of any other individual location findings.
  • Review and sign-off on Risk Reviews/Quality Assurance and validation exercises in respect of CMP, audit findings, regulator reports, BRA and ISAE3402 Type II Report initiatives.
  • Support Directors and other key stakeholders in taking or delegating ownership of any items listed within the Risk Inventory, relating to their areas of responsibility. (This discipline should be further enforced by Directors and other senior stakeholders by the setting of objectives in this regard for the appropriate line managers and other staff.)
  • Chair the PPC and oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the Hive in terms of Policies, Procedures, and associated activities
  • Coordinate annual ISAE3402 Type II Report production and provide the necessary support and guidance to the business and external auditors
  • Opine and participate on any Risk matters, in relation to due diligence exercises on potential acquisitions
  • Facilitate quarterly and annual reviews of the Operational BRA’s 
  • Maintain and update Risk Framework and Risk Appetite Statement on a regular basis
  • In addition to the duties listed above, the Senior Manager may be requested to perform any other ad hoc duties or projects as requested by the Head of Compliance & Risk.  

Key Requirements

Key Business Expertise:

  • Strong Operational Risk/Governance experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and Internal and External auditors is advantageous
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to influence at all levels
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Good active listening skills.
  • Good people management and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to influence others to achieve common goals
  • Capable of managing expectations and delivering on time
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
  • Good project management skills 


Candidate Profile:

  • Preferred Graduate level or at least 5-10 years experience in Risk, Compliance, Change Management, or similar roles
  • Good working knowledge of ISAE3402 Type II Reports and Internal Audit Processes and Management, with the ability to practically apply the principles.
  •  Intermediate Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of Access databases would also be advantageous.
