Discover the Role

The Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for a portfolio of clients across multiple Swiss Cantons. 
Reporting to the Team Lead of the Pyaroll team, the role ensures the smooth execution of payroll operations, oversees payroll administration and regulatory compliance, and serves as a key point of contact for clients on all payroll‑related matters. The Senior Payroll Officer also provides technical expertise, supports internal teams across Swiss locations, and contributes to maintaining high‑quality service standards through guidance, collaboration, and conducting four-eyes checks.


Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly payroll for clients in various Cantons in Switzerland 
  • Elaboration of periodic payroll reporting (pay slips, monthly summaries, accounting vouchers) 
  • Perform all year-end closing related tasks 
  • Ensure payroll related audits are conducted smoothly

 

Payroll Administration and Compliance

  • Management of payroll associated tasks (withholding tax, social security, other insurances) and liaise with third parties 
  • Ensure HR requests from clients are dealt with 
  • Implement policies as set down in TMF’s procedures manual and payroll procedures 
  • Technical research on specific payroll issues

 

Client Relationship and Support

  • Management of client relations for a portfolio of client entities 
  • Assistance to Accounting section for specific payroll issues 
  • Control (4 eyes check) and backup of an additional portfolio of client entities

 

Internal Collaboration and Team Support

  • Support existing Team across all Swiss locations on daily basis
  • May be responsible for guiding Associates and Senior Associates on client portfolios or other work

Key Requirements
  • Ability to articulate and communicate complex ideas in a clear, simple, and accessible manner. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent ability to plan ahead, organize workload, and coordinate tasks with others when required. 
  • Ability to follow established processes and contribute to their improvement by proposing enhancements where appropriate.
  • Good knowledge of Swiss Payroll regulations
  • Ability to work effectively on a multicultural team
  • Reliable and discreet personality with a highly flexible approach
