As Quality Assurance Tax Officer, you are engaged in the overall quality of the provision of services with a specific focus on tax matters. You will work together with the Quality Assurance Manager Tax to further develop and maintain a tax quality framework. In addition, you will be providing guidance and sharing knowledge with the Business Excellence Centre and client teams resulting in a proper completion of the tax integrity analysis in our client risk assessment process. Furthermore, you will focus on sharing tax knowledge beneficial to client/compliance teams through e.g., provision of trainings and assisting client/compliance teams on ad-hoc tax related matters. In addition, you work together with the team members of the Regulatory Services team which team is reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager Tax as well. The team is focused on providing professional legal and tax guidance relating to Dutch and international (legal and tax) regulatory requirements. The team is a non-client facing team and assists the business teams with requests related to clients. Within the team we take care of legal and tax related matters and we provide guidance on legal related matters to our business teams on (newly on-boarded and existing) clients.
In this role you also assist the RST team where needed on the preparation of appropriate arrangements, reports and analyses for each impacted product focused on tax and you are able to maintain and develop relationships with business team members and other stakeholders taking into account the existing policies and procedures of TMF Group, including the engagement and development of individual team members
The Quality assurance tax officer is part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team and has a delegated responsibility to keep the files in good standing.
- Review and assess relevant tax documentation/advice from third parties and focus on completion of the ongoing tax integrity analysis’ in our client risk assessment process;
- Taking responsibility for delivering excellence in customer service;
- Responsible for workload planning and quality of output;
In conjunction with a senior team member:
- Further develop and maintain a tax quality framework for TMF Netherlands;
- Deliver an active contribution to improve the professional tax knowledge of our staff. This includes active involvement with development, improvement and maintenance of procedures, templates, soft and hard copy libraries and other know how resources;
- Ensure our template toolbox and policy database is kept up to date;
- Provide guidance to the Business Excellence Centre and client teams and review the Tax Integrity Section of our Client Risk Assessment form for client acceptance and Mandate Review;
- Providing guidance and training to compliance/client servicing teams with respect to regulatory developments and/or DAC6/MDR questions and requests;
- Act as local point of contact for international regulatory projects involving multiple TMF offices;
- Assist and coach less experienced RST team members where needed on tax related matters like reviews or assessments related to DAC6/MDR/ATAD3 and ensure that RST team members act in accordance with the relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Master’s degree in (International) Tax, Law or in a related field;
- Minimum of 4 years relevant working experience in the financial services industry, preferably with a corporate service provider and working experience with tax related matter like DAC6/MDR and an in-depth understanding of the underlying provisions and processes [additional regulatory/tax competencies welcome];
- Knowledge of the EU regulatory framework and of international corporate (tax) structures is a plus but not a requirement;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of an (international) team;
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills [other languages are a plus];
- Experience with MS office and database knowledge.
