TMF Malaysia is looking for a Capital Market Associate Director to join the team!
- Oversee the Malaysia Capital Markets & SPV department, including supervision of the trustee services business
- Hold a responsible position and serve as a key liaison point with both the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SCM”) and the Companies Commission of Malaysia (“CCM”)
- Supervise and mentor staff by managing daily administrative tasks, allocating responsibilities, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
- Review and oversee the drafting and vetting of various legal documents, agreements, contracts, resolutions, and trust deeds, including those related to Sukuk issuances and SPV establishment
- Attend bondholders', creditors' and directors' meetings related to SPVs and trust operations.
- Undertake directorship responsibilities for the SPVs and serve as Authorised Signatory on the Trust and SPV accounts
- Deliver exceptional administrative service to a complex portfolio of client structures and high-net-worth clients, ensuring timeliness, efficiency, and high client satisfaction, including those involved in Sukuk transactions and SPV operations.
- Possess strong knowledge of the use of the SPVs for a broad range of capital markets transactions
- Work as part of a deal team to ensure the best customer experience and response.
- Build and maintain a strong network of intermediary relationships including legal advisors, Shariah advisors, asset managers, accountants, investment bankers, and other relevant advisors, to facilitate business growth and collaboration.
- Proactively keep abreast of new legal and fiscal developments in Malaysia, anticipate changes in legislation, and translate this knowledge into potential opportunities for the Capital Markets & SPV business.
- Proactively manage client relationships, gather feedback on pricing, service, and quality, and provide valuable insights to teams for continuous improvement.
- Assist in preparing management reports and handling control/compliance matters in accordance with internal policies and Malaysian regulatory requirements, especially those of the SCM and CCM.
- Collaborate with Business Development team in terms of business opportunities and expanding our offering through active participation in sales pitches, solution engineering and potential workshops.
- Manage the client contracting process together with the Business development teams and local management
- Assist in developing proposals that address clients’ needs, concerns and objectives
- Use and familairise with TMF’s technology offering and explore more tools which may assist in delivery of end client solution.
- Drive cross-selling opportunities, working with existing clients as they expand into or operate in other jurisdictions serviced by TMF offices in over 87 countries across the globe.
- Achieve revenue targets aligned with the company’s objectives
- Assist the Market Head of Capital Markets in formulating and implementing procedures and policies to enhance operational efficiency, quality of service delivery and launch of new products and services locally.
- Work with leadership team to implement best practice, and develop strategies for sales improvement based on market research and/or competitor analysis
- Holds a university degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Possesses at least 10 years of experience in trust administration, fiduciary services, or capital markets.
- Well-versed in Malaysian regulatory frameworks, including the Trust Companies Act 1949, the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007, and guidelines issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of global capital markets, including bond issuances, syndicated loans, structured finance, and project finance.
- Has a minimum of 10 years’ experience in team leadership and people management.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and resolve issues directly with clients and third parties.
- Exhibits a proactive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure.
- Highly organized and capable of managing time effectively, able to deliver high-quality work within strict timelines and handle a diverse workload with attention to detail.
- Skilled in collaboration and driving change within an international matrix environment, adaptable to diverse cultures and business practices.
