Discover the Role

The ideal profile is a qualified accountant with a strong experience as a Financial Controller, with the ability to work independently and cover multiple tasks simultaneously. The Financial Controller will be based in the Kuala Lumpur office. The person will report to the Group Financial Controller and dotted line to Market Finance Director.


Key Responsibilities

1)    Acting as the key partner to Market Finance Director in all financial areas.

2)    Ensure presence of an effective control, policy compliance, verification on financial statements, balance sheet recon review

3)    Ensure that an effective risk management process and a sound control environment exists in the countries and ensure compliance at all time.

4)    Monitor the local statutory audit and tax deadlines and ensure timely submission 

5)    Streamline organisation structure, including entity liquidation or amalgamation

6)    Monitor month end close activities including group reporting package (“GRP”) submission

7)    Collaborate with Record to Report (“R2R”), Purchase to Payables (“P2P”) and Order to Cash (“O2C”) teams on operational matters or projects

8)    Review, assess and enable the adoption of accounting standards such as local GAAP and International Accounting Standards.

9)    Provide inputs to Market Business Controllers on monthly financial report and variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting or other analysis

10)  Ad-hoc duties such as review and approve payment, review cashflow forecast etc.


Key Requirements

·         Certified accountant (CPA, ACCA, etc.)

·         Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial reporting, tax planning, and compliance with IFRS or local GAAP (North Asia countries)

·         Strong knowledge of financial systems especially Microsoft D365

·         An all-rounder with an ability to roll up sleeves and dig in

·         Excellent communication and organisational skills

·         Possess good working attitude, interpersonal and leadership skills

·         Experience with China financial and statutory reporting will be an added advantage
