TMF Malaysia is looking for a Senior Associate, Capital Markets & SPV to join the team!


Key Responsibilities
  • Review, draft and vet various legal documents, agreements, contracts, trust deeds, and related finance documents.
  • Carry out all necessary steps including monitoring, reviewing and advising the client and the Manager/Senior Manager on compliance with the terms of the trust deed, transaction documents and applicable laws at all times.
  • Assist the Manager/Senior Manager in preparing, reviewing and vetting proposals, correspondences, meeting papers, transaction documents including agreements, contracts, trust deeds etc. as may be necessary.
  • Deliver high quality administrative services to a portfolio of client structures with timeliness and efficiency.
  • Maintain good client relationships and provide operational teams with clients’ feedback on pricing, service and quality improvements
  • Work closely with Manager/Senior Manager to provide guidance on local business practices and Group compliance standards, covering all phases of trustee services including pre-engagement, during execution and post-completion.
  • Attend to inquiries from clients and related parties (including professional advisors, regulators, investors or beneficiaries), including attending face-to-face meetings, when necessary.
  • Communicate and liaise with clients on all matters related to their portfolios including changes in the terms of service or new service requirements.
  • Manage stakeholders’ expectation in a professional and responsive manner.
  • Prepare periodic or ad-hoc reports such as trustee reports, annual covenant reports, compliance reports, regulatory reports, and ensure that such reports are delivered as scheduled
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with the established standard operating procedures, systems, manuals and policies.
  • Act as an authorised bank signatory for bank accounts managed on behalf of the clients, verifying and executing instructions in compliance with the standard operating procedure and in a prudent manner.
  • Perform any other business and operational functions as may be assigned by the management from time to time.

Key Requirements
  • A degree in Law / Business and Law / Accounting and Law with at least 1-2 years of relevant working experience.
  • Preferably with experience in the finance industry or a trust company
  • Strong skills in legal drafting and analysis
  • Demonstrates a client focused mindset and sensitivity to customer service standards.
  • Possesses a strong sense of responsibility, positive disposition, initiative, high integrity and able to work under strict deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills, a team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
