The Junior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of real estate and private equity investments (Special Purpose Vehicles), within a mixed portfolio. The role involves maintaining accurate books under German GAAP (HGB) or IFRS, assisting with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, and ensuring timely delivery of financial reports / data to clients, auditors, and tax advisors.
This role is based on our Frankfurt office. After passing your probation onboarding period you will have possibility to work hybrid.

Accounting and Reporting
- Maintain accounting records for assigning legal entities (SPV) in Datev or equivalent ERP system
 - Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (HGB / IFRS) focus on fixed and financial assets, bank transactions, equity, accruals and provisions, shareholders and external loans
 - Reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts monthly (bank, AP, VAT, equity, accruals, intercompany)
 - Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accurate cut-offs and allocations
 - Assist with the preparation of the financial statements under HGB, including supporting working papers
 - Preparation of monthly or quarterly VAT files
 - Support external audit and tax filling processes by preparing schedules and tracking and responding to auditor requests.
 - Analyze, validate and upload financial data (e.g. tenant accounting)
 - Preparation of Federal Bank statistical reports
 - Creation of ad hoc reports
 - Managing own deliveries and deadlines
 - Monitoring of payment transactions
 
Client and Stakeholder Support
- Work closely with property managers, asset and Investment manager, and clients to ensure financial information is accurate and deadlines are met
 - Maintain clear and professional communication via Outlook, ensuring timely responses and structured record-keeping
 - Collaborate and communicate with customers, other departments and team members, banks, auditors, lawyers, investment managers or other stakeholders
 
System & Process Improvement
- Develop proficiency in DATEV, Excel, related and AI financial tools
 - Identify opportunities to streamline posting, reconciliations, and reporting workflows
 - Participate in Improvement projects
 
- University degree in finance/accounting or comparable training in accounting preferred
 - 0-2 years of experience in accounting, ideally accounting within real estate, private equity, audit
 - Basic understanding of HGB accounting principles, German corporate and tax law
 - Fluent in German and good command in English (written and spoken)
 - Good knowledge of MS Office
 - High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
 - Client service and problem- avoiding -solving-oriented
