The Senior Legal Officer – Onboarding expert plays a key role during the initial phase of the client relationship. He/She will actively contribute to the client relationship-building process and act as a “bridge” between the client (or its representatives) and the TMF internal teams and onboarding processes. He/She will follow the client onboarding process and set up from the initial engagement to the first financial transaction. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to details, and the ability to build and maintain excellent professional relationships while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Act as point of contact for new clients during the onboarding process, providing guidance and support under the supervision of an Onboarding Manager.
- Build, maintain and develop client relationships from onboarding through the transaction launch, ensuring a professional, courteous, and prompt approach.
- Attend client calls and assist in preparing presentations and relevant client onboarding trackers.
Onboarding Coordination
- Manage the client acceptance process, ensuring all documentation is complete and approved.
- Collect client information and perform due diligence/KYC checks for compliance approval.
- Maintain an onboarding tracker to monitor progress and deadlines.
- Coordinate entity set-up tasks, liaising with third-party service providers and internal teams across Capital Markets services.
- Facilitate due diligence requests and organize onsite visits for third parties.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist in preparing internal committee calls and presentations.
- Open bank accounts for client entities.
- Draft and review service agreements with clients, including negotiation of fund offering documentation.
- Ensure all files and records are accurately maintained in accordance with internal policies.
- Activate prospect codes and arrange for client master files creation
- Ensure that the initial invoice is accurate and in line with agreed fee proposal
Internal Collaboration
- Shape collaborative relationships with internal teams to drive operational effectiveness and ensure client queries are attended promptly.
- Provide relevant information in a structured and formalized manner to the servicing team in order for them to perform their services accurately.
- Master’s degree in law (business law, contractual law)
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the fund industry or financial services.
- Strong relationship management skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); other languages are an advantage.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.
- Proactive, positive, and results-driven approach.
- Flexible and dynamic, able to manage shifting priorities and challenges.
- Confident self-starter who values teamwork and collaboration.
