Discover the Role

The Senior Test Lead is a key leadership role within TMF’s Digital Client Platform (DCP), responsible for driving, governing, and delivering end‑to‑end testing across complex global programmes. This includes digital platform implementations, integrations, payroll country enablement, and service transformation initiatives.

The role ensures all digital solutions — including Lexicon, Optix, ENATE, Data Transformation Parsers, Integration Frameworks, and multi‑system workflows — meet functional, technical, and compliance requirements. The Senior Test Lead provides overall test strategy, leadership, governance, stakeholder management, and quality assurance across multiple regions.

Additionally, the position offers strong people‑leadership responsibilities, overseeing Test Analysts and Junior Test Analysts while ensuring consistent adherence to TMF’s global QA framework.


Key Responsibilities

1. Test Strategy, Planning & Governance

  • Develop end‑to‑end test strategies and approaches for assigned programmes.
  • Prepare detailed test plans, schedules, and effort estimates.
  • Define and enforce entry/exit criteria for each testing phase.
  • Establish testing standards, templates, and governance frameworks.
  • Conduct risk assessments and define mitigation actions.

2. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead Test Analysts, Junior Analysts, and distributed QA teams.
  • Allocate resources, manage workloads, and monitor deliverables.
  • Coach and mentor team members; enforce quality in test artefacts.
  • Conduct daily standups, progress tracking, and performance oversight.
  • Review test cases, test evidence, and ensure consistent quality delivery.

3. Test Execution & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee functional, integration, regression, UAT, and E2E testing across workstreams.
  • Ensure full coverage for Country Setup End‑to‑End Testing, Optix releases, Lexicon, ENATE, Parsers, and other systems.
  • Validate data flows, integrations, configurations, and end‑to‑end processes.
  • Ensure early identification of issues and quality gaps.

4. Defect & Issue Management

  • Lead defect triage sessions with developers, SMEs, and product teams.
  • Prioritize defects based on impact and project milestones.
  • Track defect resolution and ensure timely retesting and closure.
  • Produce defect metrics, RCA (root cause analysis), and quality trend reports.

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the main contact for test governance, progress reporting, and risk management.
  • Work closely with product owners, architects, development leads, payroll teams, and SMEs.
  • Drive alignment on timelines, scope, and quality expectations.
  • Lead test sign‑off processes and support go‑live readiness checkpoints.

6. Tools, Processes & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote maturity of QA methodologies, test automation, and process enhancements.
  • Ensure effective use of Azure DevOps (or equivalent) for test management.
  • Develop reusable test assets and improve standard operating procedures.
  • Identify automation opportunities, efficiency improvements, and KPI enhancements.

Key Requirements

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in software testing/QA.
  • 3+ years of testing leadership across multiple projects or global programmes.
  • Experience in global payroll, financial services, SaaS, BPO, or multi‑country operations (highly desirable).
  • Experience testing integrations, APIs, workflow systems, and data transformation processes.
  • Hands‑on exposure to Azure DevOps or similar test management tools.
  • Experience with automation/performance tools (Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner) is beneficial.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Deep understanding of functional, integration, regression, UAT, and E2E testing.
  • Solid experience with data validation, ETL, and multi‑system workflows.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and gaps.
  • Ability to lead geographically distributed QA teams.

Domain Knowledge (Desirable)

  • Payroll, HR, HCM platforms (e.g., Workday, Optix).
  • Accounting, Finance, or Compliance systems.
  • Global multi‑country service delivery environments.

Education & Certifications

  • University degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Technology.
  • ISTQB Foundation required; ISTQB Advanced or Agile Tester preferred.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are an advantage.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages beneficial.
