Discover the Role

This role supports business‑critical automations in production, ensuring stability, performance, and data integrity under established standards and guidance. The Automation Developer focuses on BAU support, incident resolution assistance, monitoring, and documentation, while building hands‑on experience across the automation lifecycle. The role is primarily support‑oriented, with opportunities to contribute to small enhancements and improvements.

In this role, the successful candidate will need to:

  • Provide production and BAU support for existing automation solutions, ensuring stable and reliable operation.
  • Assist with incident investigation and root cause analysis, implementing approved fixes and remediation actions.
  • Monitor live automations and support go live activities under guidance.
  • Apply technical and workflow knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze automation behavior.
  • Maintain documentation and follow established standards to ensure automations are supportable and transferable.
  • Collaborate with senior automation engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Support & Engineering

  • Support automation solutions built using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Automate Desktop) in alignment with delivery and security standards.
  • Assist in troubleshooting workflow logic, integrations, and data handling issues to ensure stable and reliable automation execution.
  • Apply workflow‑based logic to analyze automation behavior and support enhancements or fixes as approved.
  • Contribute to the development of small automations or improvements under guidance.

BAU Operations & Production Support

  • Resolve automation incidents and service requests within defined SLAs to minimize business impact.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis on recurring issues and contribute to permanent resolution to reduce BAU workload.
  • Monitor live automations and proactively work to improve stability, performance, and resiliency.
  • Provide support during and immediately after go‑live deployments to ensure smooth operation.
  • Assist in migrating automation processes across DEV, TEST, and PROD environments.

Quality, Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate solution design documents, runbooks, SOPs, user guides, and release notes.
  • Support unit testing activities and validation efforts for fixes and enhancements.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance standards and maintain client data integrity.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to increase automation efficiency and reliability.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Process Analysts and Business Analysts to review process documentation and support improvements.
  • Communicate updates, issues, and findings clearly within the team and with stakeholders across regions.
  • Participate in knowledge‑sharing activities to support skills development and automation capability building.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps in enterprise or IT environments.
  • Experience providing production or BAU support for automations or systems.
  • Exposure to:
    • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Automate Desktop)
    • .NET‑based solutions
    • MS SQL Server or similar databases
  • Understanding of workflow logic and end‑to‑end automated business processes.
  • Ability to analyze automation issues, assess feasibility of changes, and support solution updates.
  • Familiarity with DEV / UAT / PROD environments and deployment processes.
  • Exposure to REST APIs, JSON, XML, and general automation best practices.
  • Additional useful exposure:
    • Alteryx (support/troubleshooting)
    • Python scripting

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured approach to issue resolution.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized, proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively under pressure.
