As an Accounting Officer, you will act as the primary point of contact for our Netherlands-based clients on all financial, accounting, and tax matters. Working closely with a Legal Officer and under the supervision of the Supervisor Accounting, you will jointly manage and strengthen client relationships.


You will take a holistic approach to client service, building trust, delivering tailored solutions, and helping clients navigate complexity while balancing the interests of all stakeholders. Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You’ll be part of a team of knowledgeable professionals committed to delivering high-quality, proactive service.


Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, notaries, advisors, banks, regulators, and other stakeholders
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by monitoring client activities and identifying opportunities to enhance relationships and services
  • Provide comprehensive financial, accounting, and administrative support tailored to client needs
  • Maintain and manage financial records, databases, and computerized administrations
  • Prepare and post journal entries and ensure accurate bookkeeping in line with regulations and policies
  • Produce statutory financial statements and client-specific reports
  • Support cash management, including bank account and payment administration
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies (e.g., Chamber of Commerce, Dutch Central Bank, Tax Authorities)
  • Coordinate and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, and other external parties
  • Handle audit processes and support completion of external audits
  • Identify issues, risks, or inconsistencies and proactively resolve them
  • Prepare tax notifications (income tax, dividend tax, VAT where applicable)
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping, timely filings, and well-organized company documentation
  • Participate in client meetings and independently manage discussions where needed
  • Monitor billing, worked hours, and debtor balances, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
  • Support compliance obligations and act as a gatekeeper within the financial system
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to projects and process improvements

Key Requirements
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ACA, SPD, HEAO AA/BE) or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant accounting/financial experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP, IFRS; US GAAP is a plus)
  • Solid understanding of finance, accounting, and cost control principles
  • Experience with financial systems such as SAP, CaseWare, and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Interest in international financial markets and instruments
